No news is not always good news....the numbers change a bit from report to report, but attempts to fix these age-old inequities continue to fail. The civil rights and equal pay act laws, huge government agencies (i.e. EEOC and similar state agencies) and antidiscrimination policies defined by employers are essentially "the tools" that were developed to ferret out discrimination and enforce justice. Are these tools fundamentally inadequate, too difficult to use effectively, or what? Congress might begin by holding the EEOC accountable for the lack of progress in fulfilling it's charter to ensure equal employment opportunities in the United States.


You've inspired me to try to address some of these issues with inadequacies in the current gender discrimination laws in a future post. As you know, it is a big topic.
