Granted that most of our TV pundits are sexist pigs today. But what impact did that really have on the campaign when you consider that the bulk of Hillary's support was coming from the most conservative, rural segments of each state? To me it said that racism was outweighing sexism as a factor. Even though TV pundits can't joke about it like they can about sexism, I think it was still very prevalent behind the scenes.
I think we still have a long way to go as a society to overcome the latent and ingrained sexism and racism that is just under the surface.

It's unfortunate that the Dems had to go through this process -- one disadvantaged group pitted against the other. We didn't always look our best. I hope that now that we have a candidate, we can unify to fight for causes we all believe in.

I'm glad to see that the examples are from a fairly narrow group of men -- many of the same age and/or political persuasion -- and that there were plenty of people around to make faces and disapprove. My daughter tells me her generation does not feel the same pressures mine or, certainly, my mother's did.

I talked to a man in South Carolina when making calls for Obama who told me that he wouldn't vote for a black because of the way they kept their houses and because they were getting all the handouts. There's plenty of ugliness to go around.

I wanted to let you know about a story that might be of interest to your blog readers.

The Historic Blue Bonnet Dance Hall, known for giving country artists like George Strait and Clifton Jansky their start, is being transformed into the worship center of Journey Fellowship. Journey Fellowship is part of the Oak Hills Church, led by international renowned author and speaker Max Lucado.

Send me an email at [email protected] for more information.

Thanks for the comments, Mike and Donna. I didn't mean for this to be about the primary campaign, but I suppose it is understandable that it would be taken so, as that has so recently ended.
