From my Facebook archives, May 31, 2015:
Too Many Husbands. Columbia 1940. Starring Jean Arthur, it should not be too shocking to find this another fun, charming comedy and very enjoyable. Melvyn Douglas and Fred MacMurray are the two husbands vying for her affection. The three stars are all excellent and play off one another wonderfully.
In an interesting coincidence, the director of Too Many Husbands, Wesley Ruggles, happens to be the brother of Charles Ruggles, who co-starred with Ginger Rogers in Queen High, the movie we watched immediately before this one. I hadn't been familiar with Wesley Ruggles before. His most notable film was perhaps Cimarron (1931), the first western to win the Academy Award for best picture.
